Discovery of the Higgs Boson

A public lecture by Scott Dodelson (Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory) and Michel Spiro (CERN)

Peter Higgs and Francois Englert received the Nobel Prize in Physics last year for the discovery of the Higgs boson, nicknamed the “God Particle” in the mainstream media, a new particle with a mass around 125 GeV. Even though most of the people do not even know what a boson is, it is certainly the most important discovery in the field for a generation. Why is that?

Come to this broad audience conference to find out what the Higgs boson is, what did make that discovery possible, why was this discovery so important for science and what are the consequences on our understanding of the universe.

Two public lectures by the keynote speakers of the day, followed by Q&A with the audience. Exclusive occasion to attend a lecture with such talented FR-US scientists.

Free, registration required.
