About Dr. Filerman, from the Tompkins & Associates website:
“I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the treatment of Children, Adolescents, Young Adults, and Families. I received my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology where I specialized in children’s development. I completed my undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis and became certified as an elementary education teacher. My clinical internship was completed through Advocate Illinois Masonic Behavioral Health Services in Chicago. I have also worked at the Pediatric Consultation Center in Glenview where I conducted neuropsychological assessments for children, adolescents, and young adults and collaborated with schools to help implement educational interventions.
I have also received specific training in the assessment and treatment of children with developmental disorders. I have extensive experience providing neuropsychological evaluations for children with behavioral, or social/emotional difficulties. I am dedicated to providing research-based therapy techniques in a compassionate manner that is individualized to each client.
In addition to my clinical work, my research has focused on children’s social skill development and the relationship between social skills and academic achievement. I have presented at several professional conferences and I am a member of the American Psychological Association and the Illinois Psychological Association.”
