SENG Model Parent Groups (SMPG) are groups of 10 - 20 parents of gifted or talented children who meet for 8 - 10 weeks to discuss topics of mutual interest, such as motivation, discipline, stress management and peer relationships.  These groups are organized by trained facilitators and make use of the book A Parent's Guide to Gifted Children by Webb, Gore, Amend and DeVries.

Do you have experience working with or raising gifted children?  Are your friends and acquaintances always seeking you out for parenting advise? Would you like to become a trained SMPG facilitator? 

SMPG facilitator training is a two day commitment.  The first day involves training in techniques of facilitation and practice using those techniques, followed by an evening practicum with parents.  The second morning is a review and critique of the practicum and some additional "how to" sessions.  The estimated cost of training is $250 - $300. 

CGCC ran a very successful SENG Model Parent Group Facilitator training session in April 2013, and would be happy to organize another such training opportunity, given sufficient interest.  Please register your interest by signing up for this event.  Signing up will NOT obligate you to participate in the actual training, but will be used to gauge if we should arrange another training opportunity and to help us work out the appropriate timing and location for such training.  Please note: no actual date has been set for this training.
