Join experts as they discuss multiple facets of gifted education, teaching strategies, common core in gifted education, classroom management with gifted students, identification, and acceleration. In this flipped-classroom setting, participants can conduct independent investigation, attend a facilitated online conversation, and engage in learning activities to strengthen understanding.

Common Core Math and the Gifted Learner

What does it mean to teach through the Mathematical Practices? How will the Common Core impact the gifted learner? Conceptual vs. Algorithmic: What does that mean? Join us as we delve into 6 Mathematic Shifts found in the Common Core. We will explore how the Common Core standards will impact the teaching practices for the gifted learner and how the 8 Mathematical Practices will guide instruction on a daily basis.
