Parenting the Twice Exceptional Student

  • August 13, 2013
  • 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
  • SENGinar Online Webinar

Presenter: Lori Comallie-Caplan, MLSW

Twice-exceptional learners have the characteristics of gifted students with potential for high performance, plus the characteristics of students with disabilities who struggle with many aspects of learning.

It is easy for those working with children with disabilities, including their parents, to dwell upon the deficiencies. But if children experience success in their strength areas, they become more confident in their abilities. Gifted children are more likely to persevere through trying times at school and other areas of their life if their strengths are acknowledged.

Parents you can either empower or enable. You can empower your child to overcome their disability or enable them to become helpless learners.  This SENGinar will provide proactive strategies for parents to promote positive social and emotional development.

Registration required, $40 fee which includes access to recorded SENGinar.
