Reclaim the Prairie!

  • November 11, 2012
  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Governors State University

FREE – reservations requested

Join us for our first-ever volunteer effort to expand our prairie flora. Governors State University Superintendent of Grounds Kevin Barto will deliver a brief introduction to the how and why of prairie restoration and then the group will fan out to specified areas of the sculpture park to harvest, then sow prairie seed. No experience is necessary! This event is for families with children of all ages. If you can pick a flower, rub it between your fingers, and scatter the seed, you can do this! Once we've completed our seeding, we'll gather again for light refreshments of hot cider and pumpkin squares. Join us for an afternoon of fun with a purpose.
