From Hog House to Smokehouse

  • Volkening Heritage Farm at Spring Valley, Schaumburg

Visit Heritage Farm to find out where bacon comes from and help preserve food and meat for winter as they did in the 1880s. Visitors will make sausage, smoke hams and learn other pork-related activities. Event includes children’s activities and a wagon shuttle from the Nature Center to Heritage Farm. Refreshments will be available.

 

This event is for all ages. Cost is $2 per person and $8 per family of six or fewer. Additional members are $2 each. Children three and under are free.
