Parents play an important role in the education of their gifted and talented children. Learn the characteristics of highly able learners, common approaches to accomodating their educational needs and specific steps a parent can take to make school more appropriate. Handouts of relevant materials will be available.

 

Presenter

Newenka DuMont is the parent of gifted girls, a CGCC board member, founding president of Gifted Education Cooperative (GECO), has worked with the Illinois Association for Gifted Children (IAGC) on advocacy for gifted education in Illinois, and is a certified SENG Model Parent Group facilitator and Illinois liaison.
