Midwest Academy for Gifted Education and the Chicago Gifted Community Center are excited to bring you a Free Gifted Parenting Education Series in its 6th season. We will provide this both virtually and in-person. The format of each event in the series is a 30 minute presentation on the topic, followed by 15-30 minutes of questions from the audience and a 15-30 minutes mingle. 

Gifted 101: Is my child gifted?

All kids are special, but mine just really stands out. Am I crazy if I think my child might be gifted? She seems ahead of the other kids her age in my mom's group... My todler runs so much faster than the others, but isn't reading yet and they are... You should see what he built out of Lego last weekend, but he cries about going to school and won't do his homework. Why does he always try to play with older kids? Everyone tells me, she is so smart, yet why does she get bad grades and why do I get phone calls from school? What are the myths? What are the facts? And if my child is indeed gifted, what do I do next? What's the difference between gifted and academically talented?
