Founded in 1996, the Shakespeare Project of Chicago was created to bring to life the words of William Shakespeare and the world’s other great dramatists; to foster the talents of members of Actors’ Equity Association, the professional union of actors and stage managers; and to present the plays to members of our community for free.

Othello, The Moor of Venice – October 26-28, 2012
by William Shakespeare

“O, beware, my lord, of jealousy! It is the green-eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on.”

One of Shakespeare’s greatest tragedies – the timeless story of the noble Moor whose love for Desdemona is undone by Iago’s treachery and Othello’s jealousy. Join us as we launch our 18th season with this thrilling tragedy last produced by The Shakespeare Project in 2001. Peter Garino directs.
