Parent Conversations:  Exploring Best Practices for Gifted Children

We will continue to meet with a few variations in a bi-weekly schedule.  Please note:  we will begin limiting the number of participants who can sign up for these conversations to 10 people starting in April.  Sign up only if you intend to attend & cancel if you are unable to attend.  This format allows us to have manageable conversations and sufficient time for the quality discussions we all yearn for.

Parent Conversations welcomes everyone, and aspires to address gifted topics, and provide informative resources.  Please join us to listen, participate, collect resources, share ideas and create a community that supports gifted parenting. Topic suggestions are welcome and will change each session.  No time to read? Don't let that stop you from joining these inspiring conversations with other gifted parents and Katherine Peterson, CGCC Board Member / Facilitator. Other CGCC Board Members, including Carole Jones, CGCC President, and Aileen Kelleher, LCSW, CGCC Professional and Board Member will join the discussions, as they are able.

This week's topic:  The Value of Play.  We hope you find the resources for our discussion interesting and thought provoking.   This quote from Lisa Dion of the Synergetic Play Therapy Institute is a great place to start:  "When it comes to giftedness one of the most important things to focus on is how these children manage their internal worlds."  And as usual there are so many pieces to the consider, and some really interesting ideas to share about the importance of play. Please join us!
