Shotokan Karate is a long and rich tradition filled with history, culture, and knowledge. Within this class, students will be brought through a basic training seminar, learning the fundamentals of Shotokan Karate (Kihon) through move-by-move training as well as learning their very own training Kata, Taikyoku Shodan. Students will learn all of the material required to take and pass the very first belt exam from White Belt to Red Belt in a fun, engaging manner, all the while training their bodies and minds in the long and meaningful tradition of Shotokan Karate.

**SAFETY DISCLAIMER**

There will be no physical person-to-person contact through fighting or sparring of any kind. The safety of students is the number one priority and there is plenty of material to work on that does not include Kumite (sparring).

Min/Max Students 4-20

Age Range: 8+

Price: $31.50 - includes uniform

Aaron Alexander is a 1st Kyu Brown belt and a long-time practitioner of Shotokan Karate. Midway through his sixth year of training, Aaron is a top-level competitor at both local and state tournaments, taking 1st and 2nd place in his Kata and Kihon divisions respectively at the recent state tournament in Schaumburg. He has been studying under the tutelage of Illinois Shotokan Karate Club's Sensei Bajic, Sensei Patel, and Sensei La-tona, who are all in their own right masters of the craft. Aaron would be delighted to have you along to share his extensive knowledge about Karate technique, its application, and its long history.
