CGCC: Backyard Olympic Ceremony

  • July 28, 2012
  • 5:00 PM
  • Northern Suburbs

Daniel, a home-schooled seven year old boy, is a big fan of the Olympic spirit (although he is not much interested in organized sports).  He is planning, organizing and hosting an afternoon to celebrate this year's Olympic games.  Do you have any kids who may be interested in attending this ceremony in his back yard? If you have any children who are similarly immersed in the Olympics, he will consider not just audience members, but actual participants.  Anyone want to sing the U.S. national anthem? Anyone want to do a solo? Musical performers?  Anyone fluent in French?  He has a long checklist.

The planning right now looks more like one of the opening ceremonies at the start of the Olympics, which honors the Olympic tradition and ideals.  So far, there are not any physical feats in the schedule other than the running with the "torch" to light the "cauldron."  He has two more months to plan, so much more probably will be added.

If you are interested or want to be kept in the loop, please contact his mother, Maria, at maria_and_dan@hotmail.com.
