SOS for 2e welcomes Krista Sherinain Psychotherapist from Dunham Counseling.  Ms. Sherinain will explore and provide valuable information on the subject of Executive Functioning.  Instead of approaching 2e children’s Executive Functioning challenges with fear, learn how the eight (8) types of intelligence, supports and strengths can instill hope by focusing on practical strategies to accommodate your complex learner.  Identify your child(ren)’s specific Executive Function strengths and weaknesses and learn valuable tips regarding prioritizing which deficit to tackle first and avoid power struggles at home.

 

 

About Krista Sherinian

 

Krista Sherinian, LCSW is an eclectic psychotherapist trained in a variety of methods including Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Informed, John Gottman, art therapy, Thera play, guided imagery, Emotional Freedom Techniques in practice since 1997.  She got her Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago.  She parents 3 kids: biological and adoptive. They have these 2E gifts and challenges: Gifted, Sensory Regulation, Trauma, Head Injury, Seizure, Creative Type, Analytical Type with IEP.

Her work experience includes addiction counseling, crisis intervention, inpatient/outpatient psychiatric group work, and community mental health. Ms. Sherinian has been in private practice since 2003 at Dunham Counseling. She provided group and individual clinical supervision at five area hospitals in Chicago and the suburbs
