Nuclear Energy & Technology - From 1942 to the 3rd Millennium

December 2017 marks the 75th anniversary of the world's first artificial nuclear chain reaction, which was achieved under the viewing stands of the University of Chicago's original Stag Field at the direction of Enrico Fermi, Argonne National Laboratory's first director.  That major scientific feat precipitated the development of nuclear power plants that have electrified millions of homes, businesses and factories around the world. Though decades old, nuclear energy's story is beginning a new chapter.  Join us on October 26, when nuclear engineer Dave Grabaskas describes the journey nuclear energy has undertaken since that fateful December day, and explains what the future of nuclear energy may look like and the role that Argonne and the University of Chicago will have in it.
