SOS for 2E: The Meaning of FAPE

  • October 23, 2017
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Naperville Municipal Building

SOS for 2e Guest Speaker Event

THE MEANING OF FAPE
FOLLOWING THE ENDREW F. VERSUS DOUGLAS COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT SUPREME COURT CASE

THE IMPLICATIONS FOR EDUCATIONAL PLANNING

FOR 2E STUDENTS

Micki Moran

Attorney at Law- The Child and Family Law Center

Naperville Municipal Building – Room B
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

The central question in every education issue is whether the IEP and school program provides the student with a free, appropriate, public education (FAPE). The analysis of what constitutes a FAPE is at the heart of every IEP goal, and in every education attorney’s mind when there is a dispute. Recently, the United States Supreme Court has issued a decision discussing the issue of FAPE and individualization in the IEP process. Micki will discuss the Endrew F. v. Douglas County and what it means for students with IEP’s and how the language in the case can be used to improve your child’s outcome.

If you are planning to attend please RSVP to sosfor2e@gmail.com
