How to Set Expectations that Work

  • September 14, 2017
  • 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
  • SENGinar Online Webinar
Presented by Joanne Foster

Setting expectations for gifted/high-ability learners—or empowering them to set their own expectations—can be complicated. What’s too much? Too little? Just right? As kids juggle schoolwork, commitments, emotions, asymmetric development, social situations, chores, and more, they may need help with manageability. It’s a fast-paced, demanding world! The focus of this SENGinar is fit and flexibility—how to set fair and reasonable expectations for and with children and teens. We discuss respect for their individuality including diverse and advanced learning capacities; realistic objectives; productivity-related issues; and lots of practical tips so kids can find healthy ways to cope with the many complexities and pressing realities of daily life.
