Championing Wildlife - A Conservation Success Story

  • October 16, 2016
  • 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Edward L. Ryerson Welcome Center, Riverwoods

2016 Ethel Untermyer Forum: Championing Wildlife––A Conservation Success Story

Join District Biologist Gary Glowacki to learn about our efforts to protect endangered species that make the forest preserve their home.

"It is the range of biodiversity that we must care for––the whole thing––rather than just one or two stars." –David Attenborough

We will highlight our Blanding's turtle work, which has led to the creation of a successful protocol that has increased and stabilized its population. This protocol is quickly becoming the "gold standard" for Blanding's turtle work and is happily shared with other research and conservation agencies.

A special kids-only turtle program will be offered to children ages 5–12 during the adult presentation.

FREE. Registration required.
