Workshops:

STEM Scholarships: Finding Money for College
This interactive workshop will teach parents how to effectively search for scholarships that will help pay for college. A search for internship opportunities will also be covered and a list of scholarship sites will be provided to workshop participants.

Dual Credit/College Readiness
Learn more about the ways high school students can earn CLC credit. Dual Credit courses are CLC courses that are offered at a high school, Lake County High School Technology Campus, or CLC. When you successfully complete a dual credit course, you earn both high school and college-level credits for the same course. College readiness will cover the importance of going to college, types of colleges and degree programs, how to prepare for college, and what colleges look for in applicants.

Transfer Pathways and Planning

Transfer planning begins as early as junior high and high school for those who plan to attend the College of Lake County and transfer to a four year institution to earn a bachelor’s degree. Come learn about the transfer pathway opportunities offered at CLC, as well as about the transfer resources available at CLC, and how your student can use these resources to their advantage to achieve their ultimate educational goals.

College of Lake County - Panel Q & A
Learn first-hand from College of Lake County faculty and staff what it takes to be a successful STEM student. They will share the education paths within their fields as well as how to start preparing now by taking the right courses in high school.
