Writing Workshop
With the stage set for this workshop to trump the size of any collaborative writing project Chicago has ever seen, we hope to gain your support for the cause. The activities for the day are as follows:
  • Creation of fantasy costume (silly hat included) - Courtesy of Designs by Alison
  • Collaborative brainstorming sessions
  • Collaborative storytelling with performance group “Valid Hysteria”
  • Artistic representation of the fantasy (drawings, sketches, etc.) by Hilton – Asmus Contemporary, Illustrator Adria McKennon, Artist Kelsey Huckaby Johnson, Tina Zeng and Mars Gallery
  • Your child's name entered to win a free visit to see the WNBA Chicago Sky ladies play basketball front and center
  • Lunch by Apart Pizza, Kitchfix, and desserts by Eli's Cheesecake, and Brown Sugar Bakery

The best and most imaginative sentences will be compiled into a story all its own, and that story will be published by the Jeune Hope Content Group for the world to see. The young authors will of course be acknowledged for all of their hard work and receive full credit.

Science Adventure
An unscret, unboring, enchanted day with us will give your kids a chance to see some of the coolest science experiments around and participate in hands-on demonstrations. We welcome all science lovers, and people who believe in dragons, to come enjoy a bowl full of grubby sweets and wear their nerdy chic costumes.

The activities for the day are as follows:
  • Complete an ocean in a bottle physics experiment
  • Make a bouncy ball from scratch
  • Create an edible candle
  • Learn what makes Intellectual Practice Jello glow
  • Learn how to make an Ice Ball
  • A reading of the "Santa Claus Trial" by Allen Rafalson, President of the Chicago Journalists Association
  • Work with a Bio-Rad Science Ambassador that will guide kids through a DNA extraction experiment, collecting their own DNA and providing them with a keepsake ornament containing their unique precipitated DNA
  • Your child's name entered to win a free visit to see the WNBA Chicago Sky ladies play basketball front and center
  • Lunch by Apart Pizza, Kitchfix, and desserts by Eli's Cheesecake, and Brown Sugar Bakery

All items are takeaways from the event, and are included in the admission fee.
