Wild Things, a Chicago Wilderness Conference for People and Nature

University of Illinois at Chicago – Student Center East


For newcomers to experts, this day-long conference brings together the region’s best in experts, professionals, volunteers, and all those who care about nature.

  • Presentations and workshops explore the latest in natural areas conservation, advocacy, wildlife protection and monitoring.
  • Chicago area places from backyards to refuges are showcased.
  • Citizen scientists, stewards, and advocates are empowered with information, networking, and good ideas.
  • KEYNOTE: How the Bison Came Back—Stewards and scientists restore human and natural communities at Nachusa Grasslands. Bill Kleiman, Nachusa Grasslands Project Director, Illinois Chapter of the Nature Conservancy. See Chicago Tribune interview with Bill Kleiman.

Register before 01/06/15: $30 • Registration after 01/05/15: $40 • Student price available only before 01/06/15: $20 • On-line registration ends on 01/19/15.
