Founder's Day

Spend the day at The DuSable Museum as we celebrate the birthday of our founder, internationally renowned artist, educator, and writer, Dr. Margaret Burroughs, founder of the DuSable Museum of African American History.

The celebration will include activities for the entire family. There will be performances; exciting exhibitions; a special tribute to professor Willie Dixon; The Dr. Margaret Burroughs Scholarship will awarded to a single mother who is pursuing educational opportunities; and there will be birthday cake.

The Chicago Gifted Community Center (CGCC) is a member-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by parents to support the intellectual and emotional growth of gifted children and their families.

We  are an all volunteer-based organization that relies on annual memberships from parents, professionals, and supporters to provide organizers with web site operations, a registration system, event insurance, background checks, etc.
