STEMfest is Saturday, October 18, 2014 at NIU Convocation Center!

STEMfest celebrates innovations in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Northern Illinois University STEM departments, student groups, regional corporations, museums, educators, and national labs are joining forces to present hundreds of activities that range in complexity to entertain people of all ages. We hope to increase awareness of the critical role science and other STEM fields play in our world every day.

  • Hands-on activities such as navigating a laser maze
  • Exhibitors such as NIU's Davis Hall Observatory
  • Demonstrations of technologies and intriguing science phenomena including our popular Creepy Chemistry and Haunted Physics Labs 
  • Fun for people of all ages!

The Chicago Gifted Community Center (CGCC) is a member-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by parents to support the intellectual and emotional growth of gifted children and their families.

We  are an all volunteer-based organization that relies on annual memberships from parents, professionals, and supporters to provide organizers with web site operations, a registration system, event insurance, background checks, etc.
