Chicago Kids Yoga Fest

On Sunday, August 17, 2014 the city of Chicago and Chicagoland area is invited to the First Annual Chicago Kids and Family Yoga Fest to help celebrate, support and promote this mission of peace and non-violence amongst our communities. Click here for complete details.


This completely free event will take place from 10am to 10pm at the Garfield Park Conservatory and feature a variety of activities for all children and families to experience. The Kids’ Table, KIND and GoGo squeeZ will provide free snacks and VitaCoco - the official beverage of the #ChicagoKidsYogaFest - will be there to quench the thirst of guests throughout the entire day.


Dozens of activities await discovery at the festival, some of the most anticipated include:


Interactive Classes & Workshops - Kids of all-ages can practice for peace with local instructors
including Mira Binzen of Global Family Yoga, Mia Park, Yoli Maya Yeh of Peace within YOUth, Yoga Gardens NFP, Smarty Pants Yoga, Tammie Ciuciura (Author of “Namaste”), Bloom Yoga and
more.


Family Scavenger Hunt – Wander Garfield Park Conservatory with a map in hand to each location, decode clues to find activities, games, treasures and information on health and
wellness for the whole family.

The Jensen Room Main Stage – Get up and dance or sit back and listen to live music throughout the day by The Householders, Devi2000, The Bliss Tribe, DJ Taz, Bhakti Caravan and Low End
Theory.


Family Friendly Fire Jam – Watch in awe as Pyrotechniq takes the stage with a magical choreographed fire performance created especially for #ChicagoKidsYogaFest. 


Chic-a-go-go Dance Party – Dance your heart out with Ratso and Miss Mia as they tape their next episode from the fest.


Art Studio – Channel your inner Picasso and create a masterpiece of your own to take home with you as a wonderful handcrafted souvenir from the day. There will also be henna artists and face painting available.


Acroyoga Demonstrations – Play with acro-yogis as they show you how to blend elements of yoga and acrobatics together to build strength, concentration and balance, as well as trust
and openness with your acro partner. 


Lil Sluggers Skill Drills – Begin building the fundamental skills needed for any sport or team with Lil Sluggers as coaches and staff use dynamic live demos and drills to help children build confidence in their abilities – all while emphasizing the importance of teamwork and cooperation. 


Quiet Corridor –Tune into stillness in the Sensory Garden where guided meditations and calming activities soothe any who may need a moment of quiet.
