Teen Studio Workshop: Ideal Beauty & Mythological Creatures

  • January 20, 2024
  • 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Arti Institute Chicago

Before making the pristine marble sculptures he’s remembered for, Antonio Canova produced small clay models at lightning speed. Teens are invited to take inspiration from the master sculptor and Canova: Sketching in Clay to learn the art of thumbnail sketches and explore themes of ideal beauty and mythology.

Led by teaching artist Erica Scott, you’ll make sketches of your own before reinterpreting them in a finished charcoal drawing.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST

Erica Scott has dedicated her life to the creative arts. Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, Erica received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and currently works as a teaching artist at Marwen while balancing her art practice and modeling career.
