Timon of Athens: A Theatrical Reading with the Shakespeare Project of Chicago

  • March 09, 2024
  • 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
  • The Newberry, Chicago

“Ah, when the means are gone that buy this praise,

The breath is gone wherof this praise is made.

Feast-won, fast-lost; one cloud of winter showers,

These flies are couched.”

In this theatrical reading, professional actors from the Shakespeare Project of Chicago will bring Timon of Athens to life in a performance directed by Michelle Shupe.

Founded in 1993, the Shakespeare Project of Chicago has performed at the Newberry since 2003. This reading will be preceded by an informative talk by a dramaturg and followed by a question-and-answer talkback with the director and cast.
