NIU Teen STEM Café: The Science Behind America’s Football

  • January 12, 2023
  • 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
  • DeKalb Public Library

Join NIU Associate Professor Mike Eads, to learn the science behind America’s football. Physics helps us describe how objects move and interact. Understanding some general physics concepts (like force, momentum and energy) can help you grasp why things happen on the field and why the game is played as it is. Learn how the force exhibited on the playing field has changed over the years. Are players bigger, faster and stronger than they used to be? Does any of that matter?

At NIU's monthly Teen STEM Cafés, we have short talks about STEM fields, related STEM activities and FREE Pizza from Hy-Vee! Family members are welcome.
