Executive Functioning Skills for Success: Organizing, Prioritizing, and Planning

  • August 18, 2022
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Online, Glenbard Parent Series

Glenbard Parent Series: Sarah Ward

Many experts agree the skills that make up executive function are better predictors of success than test scores, IQ, or socioeconomic status.

Students with executive function deficits have problems with adaptable thinking, studying efficiently, and maintaining focus. The ability to work independently is a skill students need every day. In this GPS program, Sarah Ward will provide a better understanding of executive functioning and the tools for effective coping – focusing on simple techniques that help students strengthen their learning skills.

Sara provides concrete strategies that can easily be implemented and will help students learn to better self-initiate, complete tasks, problem-solve, and manage time. Parents will learn the study-skill tricks for supporting students in creating a positive and productive environment for both homework and life!

Sarah Ward, M.S., CCC/SLP, and Co-Director of Cognitive Connections in Concord Mass. is an internationally-recognized expert with more has 25 years in the assessment and treatment of executive function deficits. She holds an adjunct faculty appointment at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.

This event will be presented virtually. The link to log in to this webinar from your computer, tablet or phone will be posted here when available.
