Hands on History: Tales of the Des Plaines River

The Des Plaines River has been an important part of this area for hundreds of years, going all the way back to the earliest people living in Illinois territory. Come learn more about the river’s history, early Illinois explorers and settlers, and the animals that have made their home around the river!

Hands on History programs for children are FREE thanks to a sponsorship by the Kiwanis Club of Des Plaines!
