NIU Teen STEM Café: Jobs of the Future

  • February 26, 2022
  • 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM
  • DeKalb Public Library

Many of the jobs that are important now (social media manager, smartphone app developer) didn't even exist a few decades ago. How can today's teens anticipate and prepare for the jobs of the future – jobs that can solve the global problems we're facing and preserve our world for future generations?

At the next Northern Illinois University Teen STEM Café, hear from experts in cutting-edge fields about the jobs that are available now — and the jobs they anticipate in the coming decades. Learn about the STEM, communication and critical thinking skills that will be necessary in the careers of today and tomorrow.

Hear about fields such as:
•    Food systems innovation and sustainability.
•    Green energy.
•    Manufacturing innovation.
•    New battery technology.
•    Automation and robot systems.
•    Drones.
•    Space exploration.
•    Artificial intelligence.
•    Biotechnology.

Chat with experts, meet fellow teens who are interested in science and technology – and enjoy free pizza! Click here for complete details.
