College Counselor Barbara Hettle presents
College Admissions for Homeschoolers

College admissions are complicated, and the many recent changes make it even more daunting. Getting the right information to plan strategically can make all the difference for homeschoolers!

What do we, as homeschool parents, need to know to plan for the middle and high school years in order to maximize college options that are a good fit academically, philosophically, socially, and financially? How do colleges evaluate homeschool students? How do we balance individualized and unique homeschool experiences with more traditional metrics that college admissions are used to seeing? What additional administrative requirements are required from applications of homeschoolers?

Barbara Hettle will discuss the college admissions timeline and special considerations for homeschoolers such as homeschool documents for admissions including transcript, school profile, course descriptions and counselor letters.

Highly recommend looking through the plethora of information Barbara provides for homeschoolers at https://homeschoolsuccess.com/ and bring any questions for after her presentation.

Barbara Hettle has been a full time professional college consultant for ten years with experience guiding hundreds of families through the college admissions process. Having been a homeschool parent from Kindergarten through college admissions, Barbara has a passion for gifted and 2e homeschool families. She holds a Graduate Certificate in College Admissions Counseling earned with highest distinction from UCLA. As a member of professional organizations including Higher Education Consultants Association, she is experienced in all aspects of the college admissions process, including college search, testing, research, applications, scholarships and financial aid, and special needs.
