This is the Rope

As we celebrate the work of Chicago artist Nate Young on display in the Sitting Room, Driehaus Storytime presents This is the Rope byJacqueline Woodson. Both Woodson’s protagonist and artist Nate Young use objects that were part of their family histories for generations to remember the African American journey north during the Great Migration. Join us as we explore the Great Migration and learn how the author and artist preserve their histories through their works. Together, we’ll explore the question: “What special object would you want to take with you on your journey?”
