Self-Empathy How do we actually “do it”?

or
Staying Centered Under Pressure

We hear how important Empathy and Self-Empathy are to our wellbeing, and that of our children. We may understand that it contributes to the social and emotional growth of our children and their ability to navigate the world on their own some day.

But what does Empathy look like? How do we actually “do it”?

Together we will explore how to do this Self-Empathy that everyone is talking about. Using the tools of Compassionate Communication (also called Nonviolent Communication), we will explore specific practices for strengthening your resilience as parents, providing you with tools for navigating challenging interactions with the children in your life, and nurturing trusting relationships in your family.

Jennifer Warnick is a Certified Trainer with the International Center for Nonviolent Communication. She is a host and trainer with One Big Circle’s Family HEART Camp, bringing children and adults together to learn relationship and communication skills. Jennifer is a trainer with the NVC Educators Institute, teaching hands-on processes for facilitating vibrant and compassionate classrooms—places where students, teachers and parents thrive.

Based in Madison Wisconsin, Jennifer works throughout the country as a trainer, mediator, and empathic coach with families, schools, communities, and nonprofits seeking tools for peace and sustainability.
