Nationwide Livestream Star Party is heading into the spookiest part of the year by examining things that "go bump" in the Universe. And there's no better scientist out there to help us understand creepy space stuff than Dr. Shane Larsen, affectionately known to our circle as the "gravitational waves guy."
Dr. Shane Larson is the Associate Director for the Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA) at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Per CIERA: "Dr. Larson’s research interests are primarily in gravitational wave astrophysics and data analysis, but he is also interested in various aspects of cosmology, binary star evolution, gravitational dynamics in exoplanetary systems, and Earth’s climate."
