Climate Change Writing Challenge

No one is too small [or too young] to make a difference (Greta Thunberg)

In anticipation of our second Kids Climate Summit, which will focus on community, we are inviting students of all ages to share their authentic concerns on climate change by emailing people running for office to represent them in the November 2020 election.

All students of all ages are welcome to participate, no need to participate in the Summit!

Write a brief (250 words or less) email setting forth your concerns; you are welcome to include a picture (pictures are worth a thousand words, but don't count against your 250 word count!) If you prefer you may write a physical letter.

Articulate your climate-related concerns. Perhaps share evidence of how the climate crisis has impacted you or your community, just as Greta Thunberg raised her concerns initially in front of the Swedish Parliament.  Or, maybe you have ideas on adaption or mitigation in your community?  Be sure to communicate how you feel about the climate situation.

If you want a coach to review your email, please send it to Writing Coach before October 2, 2020.

Submission instruction will be provide upon registration.

All emails will be shared on this Kids Climate Campaign webpage, unless you request anonymity.

Email your questions or concerns to  Kids Summit.
