A PANEL DISCUSSION WITH COLLEGE INSIDERS

Wolcott Arts & Athletics Center

 1950 W Hubbard Street

Chicago, IL

Join us for a screening of critically acclaimed documentary, The Test & the Art of Thinkinga film about the SAT that, according to the New York Times, "doggedly questions an exam that affects the futures of millions and feeds the fortunes of several big industries."

The film traces the history and evolution of the SAT/ACT as a major player on the pathway to higher education in America and documents its current power in our culture. In doing so, it strives to support individuals who are embarking on the road to college by examining what the SAT/ACT measures and means, and asking a range of educational leaders, admissions professionals, and stakeholders in the test - from tutors to parents to test designers - to grapple with the test's use, ramifications, and future.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with college counseling and admissions professionals, including Jon Boeckenstedt of DePaul University, Jerry Pope of Niles High School District 219, and Keegan White of Lawrence University. The discussion will be moderated by Marybeth Kravets, Wolcott School's Head of College Counseling.

Free and Open to Students, Parents, and Professionals. RSVP required.
