Leslie Contos, a professional counselor experienced with giftedness and Twice Exceptional (2e) students, will be leading a workshop for homeschool students on emotional intensity.

Emotional intensity often accompanies intellectual intensity in gifted people. This intensity can manifest itself in many different forms, such as:

  • extremes of positive and negative feelings and complex emotions
  • out of control or tight inhibition
  • self-consciousness and negative self-talk
  • strong feelings of empathy or attachments
  • somatically: like stomach and/or head aches
  • anxiety and fears
  • frequent re-living of negative memories
This workshop is designed to help kids recognize, cope with, and accept this aspect of their giftedness and their intense emotions.

Please rsvp by Friday, 5 May.
