Butterfiles Class

  • August 01, 2015
  • 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Citizens for Conservation, Barrington

Join us for a butterfly tour at Flint Creek Savanna. Class participants will discuss the life cycle of butterflies, create butterfly homes, and

look for butterflies on the savanna's trail. Each student will receive milkweed seeds to plant and a caterpillar to take home and release when it emerges from its cocoon. Children will also learn about butterfly and moth wing camouflage and create an art project to illustrate this protective feature.

Class is open to children ages 5-12 years old. Parents are welcome to attend. CFC members are free; non-members pay $5 for the first child and $1 for each additional child. Register at www.citizensforconservation.org/youth-education
